The LCD display on a resin 3D printer (specifically MSLA/DLP/LCD printers) is a critical component. The LCD is not just an informational display; it is an integral part of the printing process.
It acts as a dynamic, high-resolution mask between the UV light source (array or laser) and the resin vat. For each layer of the print, the LCD screen turns individual pixels black (to block UV light) or clear (to allow UV light to pass through).This selectively hardens a precise 2D image of the layer onto the bottom of the resin vat, curing the resin exactly where needed.

High Resolution is arguably the most advertised spec, The display size directly determines the maximum build volume of the printer. Light Source Compatibility (Wavelength) must match the peak output of the UV light source to cure resin efficiently.
There are both Monochrome and RGB LCD for 3D printer.
Monochrome is to use a simpler monochrome filter layer. It allows much more UV light to pass through (~90-98% transmission for Faster Print Times and Longer Lifespan and Drawback.
RGB LCD is to use a traditional RGB color filter layer, which significantly blocks UV light (~40-50% transmission)
The 3D printer LCD is almost always covered by a customized tempered glass or has a hardened surface coating.

1. Determine the Display Type

3D printer displays come in different types, each with pros and cons:

A. Standard 12864 LCD (Non-Touch, Rotary Knob Control)

 Pros:

· Affordable, reliable, and widely compatible.

· Works with most Marlin firmware-based 3D printers.

· No touchscreen issues in harsh environments.

 Cons:

· Slower navigation due to rotary knob control.

· Limited graphics and small screen.

 Best for: Budget 3D printers (e.g., Creality Ender 3, Prusa i3).

B. TFT LCD Touchscreen (3.5” - 7”)

3D Printer Display Custom LCD Solutions for Diverse Applications

Brightness from 0-3000 for perfect display effect achievement. 100% NTSC makes the vividness of the picture better and the color transition in the picture more natural.

Color Temperature is positive white at around 5500K, warm white (yellowish) at 3500K and also cool white (cold) at 6500K.

Driver circuit with sufficient voltage and current values to meet output requirements and reduce the secondary development cycle. Heat dissipation for high-brightness products to advance design of reasonable heat dissipation structure.

Power consumption, we increase the brightness without increasing the power consumption.

Cables, Backlighting also requires cables, either through an FPC connected to the LCD's FPC and controlled through a port, or a separate cable that controls it through a connector.
